Behind every single product we consume, there are countless untold stories. The creation of these products takes place far from our view, by people we know little or nothing about, and with social, economic, and environmental impacts rarely disclosed.
Manufactured is a documentary film series which reveals the unfamiliar, utterly spectacular and often devastating events that occur in order for these products to materialize. Presented by weaving together the dramatic personal lives and struggles of the people who make the products we consume, the film series pieces together stories like a mystery, gradually uncovering the actual product these workers across the globe are involved in creating and the unintended consequences that result.
It is their dramatic story that is so rarely told and it is through their personal lives that viewers will truly connect the dots and realize that we are all actually a part of this story.
